Caerphilly County Borough Council’s annual Operation Santa Appeal launches today!
There are hundreds of children across the borough who are at risk of not receiving a gift this Christmas and Operation Santa aims to provide presents to those nominated by their social workers.
Similar to last year, we are still unable to accept gift donations as we have in previous years and are asking that residents instead pledge cash or gift voucher. Gifts will then be purchased and delivered direct to the children in time for the big day.
Our pledge line is now open until Friday 25 November and provides a quick and easy way for generous groups and individuals to pledge cash or a gift voucher for a child this Christmas simply by visiting our donation page.
If you choose to purchase a gift voucher, please do not wrap the voucher, instead place it into an envelope and ensure it is clearly marked with the information below:
Please limit the value of each individual voucher/gift card to £10.00.
The unwrapped gift cards need to be taken to a collection centre by Monday 28 November.
The collection centres are as follows:
Alternatively, you can make a pledge by calling 01443 866577 or emailing operationsanta@caerphilly.gov.uk.
Cllr Elaine Forehead, Cabinet Member for Social Care has said, “Many are still feeling the effects of the Pandemic and with the current cost of living crisis, it is vital to ensure that all children receive a gift this Christmas. Operation Santa is such a worthy cause and can only be achieved through the generous donations from businesses and residents of the borough.
“On behalf of Caerphilly County Borough Council, I would like to thank all of those who have participated in the appeal previously for your donations and continuous support and I know that Operation Santa 2022 will be just as successful as previous years.”
